The Pitch!

Merry Christmas! It's been a long 5 weeks, and I can finally say I've finished my cartoon pitch! I had a break over the last few days for christmas, but I putt the finishing touches to the pitch today, so here it is! Hope you like!!

Camera!

This is how I see the episodes looking like when they interview the characters. All the interviews won't just be in the staffroom, this is just an idea of what it'll look like! Im happy with it, I think the he fits in to the backgrounds really well!

Poster!

My idea for the poster! I tried to go with the school theme, so desk, graffiti, pens paper etc. I think it describes each character as well just by looking at them so I'm pretty pleased with it!

Staff Room!

Just designed the series logo for Staff Room! I really like the rough style of it, looks like someone has scribbled it. I also like how I've used the school badge for the S and R and used the school colours!

Staffroom!

Just finished the staffroom! I really wanted the staffroom to bring out the characters personalities. I wanted it to look like they don't care about mess and teaching so I made it dirty, messy and not very proffesional. For example the books in a cupboard, dirt on the walls and Miss Jenkins smoking. Hope you like it!

Schools now in session!

Just finished the school background, took me longer than I thought, I didn't notice how much little detail I had to add! I'm very pleased with it though, I especially like how it has the oldish run down feel which I wanted! Hope you like it! I'll finish the staff room soon hopefully and then I'll post it up!

Third week!

Shwmai! In to the third week of the post production now and really enjoying the project. Feel rewarding when I see all my rough designs from the pre production come to life with colour! I wasn't that in to creating backgrounds before but I'm really enjoying it. This week I've used illusrator to colour the school and staff room in, and managed to finish the hallway! (It's posted below, think it's better?)  I've had this pitch idea of having all the info like character info, backgrounds, episode ideas, etc in files with paper clips attaching the designs, etc, I tried it out and its looking really good, really pleased with it, just need to finish all the work now to putt in it! I'll try have the school and staff room backgrounds finished by the end of the week and I'll post them when I can!

I also re designed the caretakers body because something wasn't right with it before!

2nd week!

Coming to the end of the second week now and to be honest I didn't realise how much work goes in to post production!! But I am really enjoying it, the main reason I'm enjoying it is because its all my ideas coming to life, for example creating what the characters should look like on a 360 degree angle, and what they should look like and fit in to the environments. I've managed to do more than I thought this week. Here is the turnaround for Mr.Griffiths (Headmaster) and Mr.Winterbottom (Drama teacher) and the hallway background. Enjoy!

Rough idea!

After hours and hours of colouring the characters on illustrator I finally have a rough idea of the size, feel and look of each character! I like how they all size up to each other and I think they all look the same sort of style of cartoon which I'm pleased with! And I especially like the drama teacher with the skull and the headmaster! The colours aren't finalized and I haven't added any kind of shadow or real detail to them, but this is what i came up with! Again feel free to leave a comment on how I could improve them!

Production!!

Got the brief today! We're starting we're we left off on the pre production project! Quick re cap of my idea: Cartoon series about teachers in a school, behind the scenes of the classroom. It'll be about what they really think of the students and what they get up to when they dont need to be proffesional in front of the students. It'll be shot in a documentary style, similar to creature comforts, summer heights high where they'll be talking to the camera about what they do, and have short clips showing what their talking about! I need to tweek a few things about the series aswel!
  Looking forward to it, should be fun finalizing the characters and seing my pitch come to life in a way. so first im going to start developing the five characters (headmaster, gym, english, drama teachers and the caretaker) and i'll keep you updated!

Hand in date!!

Handed in all my E4 sting project today! I enjoyed this project a lot, I haven't animated for a while so it was a nice change and a challenge! Had a few problems with flash!!! But its always nice to see your animation finished and working! Im happy with my final sequence, find it quite funny and think people who watch E4 would like it! So....here it is! Children cover your eyes!

E4 sting!!

Coming towards the end of the E4 sting project now and its been fun! almost finished the animation now, just need to adjust some tweeks and it'll be finished! Had to change a few things while animating like the bar background. Had a few problems with flash player because im not used to it, the biggest problem i had was animating the quilt covers but manged to finish that today, hopefully it's not too rude! soo...yee almost done! here's the new and improved bar scene!

this is where the magic happens!

Okay...you've seen my bar and the baby scan now its time to show you where the magic happens! The bedroom scene is also done on adobe illustrator, I've kept the colours dim again so our main concentration is on the E and the 4 even though they'll be covered by the duvet. I plan on making the duvet quite a dim colour also.
      So here's the bedroom scene! I'll update with the animation through the week.

E4 sting!

I've created 2 out of the 3 background for the sting. I decided to go with the romantic/rude sting of the E (man) meeting the 4 (woman) at a bar then going back to E's bedroom to get freaky! Then using a baby scan showing E pregnant with an E4 baby......... Now your questions have been answered, how did the E and 4 come together?

Here's the bar background and the baby scan, working on the bedroom as we speak! 

I think the E and the 4 in the bar will be animated through squash and stretch to show whats happening and i plan on having hearts popping in the air. While thr E4 in the baby scan will move around slightly.

New brief!

Just got given a new brief! sounds cool, I have to design and animate a short sting for E4. Im really looking forward to this project because I'm a big fan of E4, watch it all the time, cant get enough of the Inbetweeners, how i met your mother and scrubs! Got a few ideas for what I can do, so just planning some storyboards out and some characters to go with them! Should be animating friday so I'll get my pitch and designs up soon!

Illistrator background project.

This week we learnt the basics of Adobe Illustrator, well tried to learn it, bit lost at the start. We had to design our own background, so I desided to design one for my pre production pitch with was teacher. I designed a hall way and front door of the comprehensive school. I've enjoyed it, I picked up illustrator as I went on and its really handy for different things. Hope you like!

funny idea!

My friend had an idea about a cactus with a drinking problem, so I thought id design it for him, and I liked it so much I thought id post it.

Some old glammies work.

Haven't posted for a while, so thought id putt up the work I did for the Glammies. I designed and coloured the establishing shot for the fairy tale idea. Then I thought, designed and animated the snow white idea (not the background) where the fairly good mother turns her world upside down. Hope you like, feel free to comment!

Different style!

So far I've been using very crisp line on most of my designs but today I used more my style which is more free and messy. Tim Burton is a major influence on how I draw like this because I really like the free scribbly style of his drawings. I need to add colour to a couple more, then I'll upload them. Hope you like them!

Favorite idea so far!

I needed to add some colour to my work and left my water colours at home so thought I'd use my new pen tablet! The character I chose was the drama teacher, this is probably my favorite character because everything about the design suits him. I thought his character could walk around with the shakespeare skull and re-site lines from it because he wants to show off his knowledge, and he thinks he's really famous, even though he isn't. I really like the way I coloured him, I didn't add too much detail, just enough to get the character to stand out! Hope you like it, feel free to leave a comment! 

Designing!

Started designing last monday, really been enjoying it! I decided to go with the teachers idea so had a wide range of possible characters to design! At first I created the first teacher characters that came to my head, and trying different styles using my research. Then I plan on narrowing the teachers down to the ones I think could  be used best! Here's some ideas I had at first, quite a variety there, I do have more to upload but their I left them in uni! So....hope you like them, let me know what you think and I'll keep you posted with more updated ideas!
