Final look of the hot/warm scene

Here's the final look of the students in the warm and cold scenes.

Has some feedback from Leanne (NSS Woman) and she said our video is a bit negative so to fix this, after Captain Survey comes in and helps, we're going to have shots of all the students happy. For mine I'm going to have the two students drawing, smiling in normal clothes and the rooms are back to normal.

1 week in...

First week of third year is over, and I really wish I was just starting first year because my time of being a student is coming to an end!! Anyway first week, yee enjoyed it, quite boring watching the youtube flash tutorials to begin with but when I started testing them out i really started to enjoy them. I've learnt a lot about flash, it's quite enjoyable when you know the basics. Tomorrow now need to start on the NSS project animation. My part of the sequence is complaining that the heating breaks in the animation room, so for that I'm going to have a basic animation of a student down to his pants and vest, working by a light box sweating. I have a couple of simple animations in mind, one being sweat dripping down his face could follow a motion path, while the light box could has a glow effect. For now though I'm going to do a rough storyboard and design my simple character. I'll update tomorrow if not tuesday.

The BIG third year!! Ahhhhhhhhhh!

Howdy! It's third year time now and I'm excited, scared, anxious but ready to get things going!

First brief! Our first brief is a flash project to do with the NSS (National Student Survey). Apparantly not a lot of student like to do this, they even offer them sweets but first theing you learn when your small, don't take sweets from strangers. The aim of the project is to do a 15 to 30 second long video to try and encourage student to want to do the survey and get their opinions across. I've been in uni for a week now and fellow student and I have a bit of an idea which we would like to collaborate on. For this week now all we've been really doing is watching flahs tutorials on the internet, and keeping a little blog on what we've learnt, what videos are handy. Then we do little tests on what we've learnt. The testing is more fun than I thought and I am picking up a lot as I'm watching the videos.

The rough idea we have for the NSS project is that we have different clips of students having problems, for example prices for food, computers crashing, heating breaking, etc. Then appears this superhero with NSS on the front of him (called NSS man) and he tells the student to 'fill him in' get it? and he'll sort things out, but first of he need YOU (The students).

So thats the first week or two in a nutshell, I'll update with progress, I bet your so excited, but calm down, theres a whole year to go!!

Friends Tattoo

Little project I've had for the last couple of days. My friend surfs and he wants a tattoo which has 'Life's a Beach' on it along with maybe a wave or surfboard.

He wants the tattoo on his chest so I've tried to keep the design quite rounded and compact

Summer bits and bobs!

Hey, here some work I've been doing over the summer, It's far from my best work but I'm starting to get use to drawing again after having a while off! Last summer I drew much more cartoon characters compared to this summer where I concentrated more on life drawing. I really think my life drawing needs to improve so over past couple of weeks I've been visiting different locations like Cowbridge and Ogmore. Here's a few sketches...

My cousin just started a gardening business so thought I could do a caricature of him for his business, maybe to go on the side of his van or business cards, etc! just something to keep me drawing and using software over the summer.

I haven't updated my blog since breaking up for summer but i have been drawing! Here's a little character I designed for my friend Robs birthday! He looks like a monkey and works in a shop where he has to wear a suit so here is what i come up with! I coloured it with adobe illustrator.
